With the availability of matched power tubes, the bias balance is pointless. I wouldn't do anything except change to bias balance adjust to bias voltage adjust. But I prefer the compressed shimmery crystal cleans of the silverface and I prefer the sound of a silverface with a KLON melting its face. I've given it a very fair shake by doing a COMPLETE conversion and, sure, its OK. I'm going back to the Silverface circuit.
